VISL is a research and development project at GrammarSoft ApS as of September 2023.

Before that, VISL was a project at the Institute of Language and Communication (ISK), University of Southern Denmark (SDU). Since September 1996, staff and students at ISK have been designing and implementing Internet-based grammar tools for education and research.
